Join WILPF’s silent vigil every Friday from 12:00 Noon to 1:00 PM at the corner of El Camino Real and Embarcadero Road, Palo Alto.

The women and men of the local Women’s International League for Peace & Freedom vigil silently every Friday, noon to 1 on the public sidewalk at the corner of El Camino and Embarcadero, outside Palo Alto’s Town and Country shopping center. Our signs and banners call for peace and justice: for a ceasefire and peace in Ukraine, and Palestine/Gaza, and an end to the nuclear era. We stand in support of the Poor People’s Campaign’s goals “ending Poverty, Racism, Militarism, Ecological Devastation. We encourage others to join us with their signs on these issues.

We stand to save Democracy from the actions by our government which is following the principles of Project 2025 by removing constitutional rights.  We stand for issues of civil rights: safe housing for the homeless, equal pay for women for equal work, free education and healthcare, the return of Roe Vs Wade protections, rescue for our planet’s failing environment, stringent gun laws, safe/fair asylum at our borders …. and have much to work for, to “right the ship of State.” It’s just an hour, but could be the best hour of your week. Come in peace; leave in peace. Contact WILPF (Women’s League for Peace & Freedom) wilpf.peninsula.paloalto@gmail.com for information.
