Economists, Wall Street, European allies, and even the Business Round Table are all raising alarms about what appears to be a weakening U.S. economy and an increasingly damaging trade war with China. The Trump administration, in typical contradictory fashion, is at once denying that there is any cause for concern while floating ideas for how to address the situation that they deny is happening.
For this edition of Other Voices TV Forum we’ll take a careful look at what’s happening with the economy, Trump’s trade wars, and the economic dangers that may lie ahead.
Dr. Jack Rasmus, Ph.D Political Economy, is the author of numerous books and articles. Jack is the host of the weekly radio show, Alternative Visions, on the Progressive Radio Network, and a journalist writing on economic, political, and labor issues for various magazines, including ‘Z‘ magazine, ‘Against the Current‘, ‘In These Times‘ and others. Before his current roles as author, journalist and radio host, Jack was an economist and market analyst for several global companies 18 years and, for more than a decade, a local union president, vice-president, contract negotiator, and organizer for several labor unions.
Jack’s newest book, The Scourge of Neoliberalism: US Policy from Reagan to Trump, is due to be published on October 1. He can be found online at jackrasmus.com and kyklosproductions.com. Please RSVP below. We’ll save a seat for you!
