CONGRESS:  STOP THE ESCALATION.  END THE WAR.  BRING OUR TROOPS HOME.

We, the undersigned, are alarmed and outraged at President Bush’s plans to send more troops to Iraq.  This escalation of the conflict will lead only to increased violence and loss of US, allied and Iraqi lives.  This is a reckless response to the tragic situation in that country.  The American people sent an unmistakable message in the November elections:  We want this war ended and our troops brought home.  Congress has the clear Constitutional authority to deny the President the funding to escalate or even continue the occupation.

We call on you, our elected representatives, to uphold the expressed will of the people of this country.  Act now to stop the escalation, bring an end to the war, and bring our troops home!

This petition will be sent to California’s U.S. Senators and the Peninsula/South Bay Congressional Representatives.

Signatures received by January 24 will be hand-delivered to our representatives’ Washington, DC offices.
