Stephen Pizzo: Ladies and Gentlemen: The Real George W. Bush

By Stephen Pizzo, News for Real

For three more years America is going to be led by not just a lame duck president, but a totally discredited president.

In a poll taken yesterday, 90 percent of those asked said they believed top Bush administration officials are guilty of either illegal or unethical behavior in the CIA leak case.

So where does that leave an un-indicted George W. Bush? There really are only two explanations, and neither reflect well on him. First, he can claim his closest aides conspired behind his back while he was otherwise occupied. I call that the "Exxon Valdez Defense" -- the captain was not at the helm when a careless crewman ran the ship of state aground. Unfortunately for Captain Bush, that defense did not wash for the real captain of the ill-fated tanker. Because, you see, the captain is always responsible.

A new campaign from PPJC

Help us get this message out to hundreds of thousands with a full-page newspaper ad and we’ll start a powerful movement.

Most of us would agree that George Bush is the worst President ever. His years in office have been a disaster not only for the people of this country, but for all the peoples of the world.

It’s time for George Bush to go.

Many people have talked about impeachment. George Bush has certainly engaged in impeachable conduct. But let’s face it, with a large Republican majority in Congress, impeachment simply will not happen.

So how do we get Bush out of the White House? Let’s start a real people’s movement to demand he resign. We’ve seen the power of the grassroots successfuly making this simple kind of demand of their leaders around the world, from the Philippines to Russia. We can do it here, as well.

Peninsula Peace and Justice Center will run a full-page signature ad in the San Jose Mercury News carrying this urgent message on November 2, the anniversary of Bush’s “re-election”. Coming from the politically important Silicon Valley, this will be a potent statement. Then we’ll spread the word to other grassroots groups around the country and encourage them to do the same, sparking a movement that can’t be stopped.

We need your help to do this. Newspaper advertising isn’t a regular item in our budget, so we need to raise the money for this additional campaign. Please make an extra contribution today and add your name to the advertisement. Let’s get this movement started! Thank you for your support.

See what you're signing! Click here to see a draft copy of the ad.

Make a contribution today. May we suggest a $10 minimum contribution? Larger contributions, of course, will be needed to make this work. And please be sure to tell us how you'd like to be listed in the ad. (Examples: "Jane and John Doe" or "The Smith Family" etc.)

You can also contribute by credit card over the phone. Call our office at 650-326-8837 during regular working hours.

To contribute by mail, make your check payable to PPJC and mail to: Peninsula Peace and Justice Center, Attn: RESIGN NOW Campaign, 457 Kingsley Avenue, Palo Alto, CA 94301
