When you receive your tax rebate,
do something that will really help our economy.
Use it to end the war.
Dear Friend,
George Bush’s ballyhooed economic stimulus rebate checks are on their way. Each taxpayer will get about $600 to spend as they see fit.
What isn’t getting talked about is the $341 million check that George Bush sends to Iraq each and every day.
We’d like to suggest that you use at least a portion of your rebate check to tell our elected leaders what your priorities are by making a donation to Peninsula Peace and Justice Center, our local community’s leading grassroots activist organization.
You know we’ll put your contribution to work in a meaningful way—by continuing our tireless efforts to end the seemingly endless war in Iraq. You already know how hard we work at PPJC.
To make sure your message is heard loud and clear, we will write to the President, members of Congress, the Presidential candidates, and the media to tell them how many "peace rebates" we receive (no individual names will be used, just totals).
To top it all off, don’t forget that your donation to PPJC is tax-deductible, so you can pay a little bit less of the war tax next year.
